New Approved Projects

We now have two projects that have been approved that we are working on.  One is tiling the floors in a primary school in Veitango and the second one is a preschool project where we are refurbishing a building, fixing the toilets and putting in a new fence.  We spent time in helping them get their supplies that they need to do these projects.

We helped Bishop Huni pick out the tile for his project, tiling the primary school.  It brought back memories to Sister Murdock of picking out tile for her home during the remodel.  We also helped Sione Fakahau who is spear heading the preschool.  We got paint, fencing, siding, new toilets and other items to help prepare the school for the children.  We also was able to get him some little chairs for the preschoolers.  They were five different, very bright colours.  They will look good with the little kids in them and they are very sturdy so they will last.

Following are a few pictures of the progress on how they are coming along.  Once they are finished we will be be having a closing ceremony with all officials in attendance, with more pictures, so be sure to stay in touch with our Blog!.

This is the Primary School in Veitongo that we are putting new tile in six class rooms.
Here is one of the floors that is partially tiled.

Another class room that is all tiled.  It just needs to have the grout and it will be ready for school.
On our way to finding the preschool we drove by these little children playing in a tub of water totally naked.  They grinned and waved at us.  As we were lost we came back by a few minutes later and the little boy came out of the house, naked waving and grinning from ear to ear.  They were so cute.
This is Sione Fakahua who is spear heading the preschool.  He is showing us where the new fence will be put in.  It was a very rainy day so his crew was not all there, but he was working away.
Here we have a new toilet and Sione is starting to paint the walls and doors.  He is such a hard worker.  I hope that his crew shows up to help him as he is elderly.
