New Years Holiday Events

This is some of our activities for New Years Eve and New Years Day.  Since everything closes down over the holidays we, the Senior couples, did activities together.  It made the Holidays a lot easier being away from home.  On New Years Day at 5PM we all got together for a Breakfast Dinner, then at 7 PM we went to the Mission Office for movie night.  What a great day!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is some of the Senior Missionaries gathering for the New Years Eve party.  We had ice cream sundaes with fresh pineapple, then played games together.  Elder and Sister Wood had some fun activity games for us to play until the Mid night Hour!

These are some of the fire works we lit off at midnight.  There were also fire works going off all around us.  They were the big ones in the sky.

This is sunrise New Years morning on our way to drop off the Moons and the Van Den Akkers for their adventure of riding their rented bikes from one end of the island to the other end.  Before Elder Moon came here he did a ride with his son from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast, all the way across the United States.

Here are the bikers ready to head out on their ride.  From left to right, Elder and Sister Moon, Sister and Elder Van Den Akker.  Both of these men are 70 years old.  They are very active.

Up the hill they go.  It was probably the only hill they had on the island but it is a steep one and they have bikes that are not the best.  Two of them do not have any gears.

This is the road we went down to where we left the pick up for them to load their bikes in at the end of their ride.  And by the way, this is Sister Murdock's first time driving in Tonga.  She did alright!
